    Shaddock has a long history in Taiwan. Shaddocks are large and round with beautiful flesh and smooth yellowish outer skin. The flesh has a unique flavor and tastes sweet and sour. An average shaddock weighs between two to four pounds, which is enough to share among family and friends.

     In addition to eating a shaddock directly, you can also dip the flesh with sugar, salt or plum powder to even out the sour taste. Compared with other citrus grandis, shaddocks have a richer and sweeter taste. It is also high in vitamin C and rich in other nutrients. Therefore, for people who know how to eat good grapefruit, they usually choose shaddock.
 
 
     When buying shaddocks, during the harvest season, choose the ones with smooth and shiny skin, and note that the heavier it is, the juicier it is. Since the skin has a strong aroma, it can be dried and burned to repel mosquitoes and odors.
